Some Saturdays are exciting…but some Saturdays are the worst, and those Saturdays are usually spent at the ER with a 3 year old who shoved a giant bead up his nose.
At approximately 8:08 pm one nephew of mine located a large pearl bead and proceeded to jam it up his tiny little nose until it became lodged permanently.
At approximately 8:30 pm my sister and I gave up trying all the obvious fixes, surrendered, and drove to the ER. Now, seeing as I don’t have any children of my own I have never had the pleasure of rushing to the emergency room for ridiculous things, so I had no idea what to expect. But oh, let me tell you: weekend nights at the children’s Emergency Room are glorious. Lots of angry parents and crying children. And to make the experience all the more charming they allow you to sit in the waiting room for several hours so you can truly savor every bit of the wonder.
