for a rainy day

Tacos Are My Love Language

Below is a real life interaction that transpired after entering a Mexican restaurant:

Me: “Hi, I’m here to pick up an order. I ordered the…”

Hostess: “That’s okay, I know your order. Here you go.”

Me: <<surprised that I don’t have to use words any more>> “Oh, thank you.”

Hostess: “No problem. We’ll see you tomorrow!”

Me:  <<pausing for a moment of uncomfortable insight>> “I think it’s possible that I come here too much.”

Hostess: “Okay. Drive safe, Tracy.”

Me: “Huh. What is this feeling I’m feeling? Is this shame? I must say, I don’t really care for it. Oh, nope, it’s just hunger. Maybe I should get more tacos.”

And we lived Happily Ever After:

Tacos are delicious! That is the moral of this story. Delicious and shame free and made of happiness. In fact, it would be safe to say that at this point in my life that I am 90% sustained by tacos.
